Not around on Election Day? If your plans call for you to be out of Town on November 8, or if you have a college student out of town, be sure to arrange for an absentee ballot. Voting by absentee ballot is simple but it is a two-step process so be sure to allow plenty of time.

You may vote absentee if you are a registered voter and you will be absent from town during all hours of Election Day. You also qualify if you are in the armed forces, have an illness or physical disability, your religion forbids non-religious activity on Election Day or if you work as an election official at a polling place other than your own. Absentee ballots become available on October 7. You may pick up your absentee ballot in person at the Town Clerk's office at Town Hall at 101 Field Point Road, Greenwich or call 203 622-7897 to request the form be mailed to you. Once you receive your ballot, simply follow the directions and return it to the Town Clerk before the close of polls on November 8.
